SMS Release Version 4.1 Build 262 – 12th August 2008

Release Note

1.  On Basic Module, we’ve enhanced features as following:-
(a)  Curriculum Mgmt ~ > Subject Offered, As most of the subject code in ministry had been grouped for PMR, SPM and STPM level.  System has been enhanced to display the subjects which are applicable for the level instead of displaying all the subjects available during subject offering.  An additional longer version of the subject name that follow the ministry naming of subject will be incorporated for display purposes.

(b)  Staff Mgmt ~ > Level Teacher Assignment, This is option to provided a New “Level Teacher Head” Role under User Mgmt, Before initial this step, please creates level teacher head roles access to users so that their names can be appear during assigning the level teacher process. For detail on how to assign teacher role to level teacher role, please refer to http://ischool.tv/doc-en-sysadmin/ischool-sms-system-administration/user-management/how-to-assign-role/, staff can be assigned as Level Teacher Head where he/she is able to take student attendance and update the exam marks when the class teacher is absent.  School admin is required to assign Level teacher head for each level.

(c)  Curriculum Mgmt ~ > Class Teacher Assignment, This is the option for school admin staff to incorporate class teacher assignment by session where user can define entire class teacher available in school by session.

2. On E – Report Card Module, we’ve enhanced features as following:-
(a)  Exam Mgmt ~ > Mark Input ~ > By Subject & Class, the system is enhanced to build in ‘Enter’ keystroke for input field navigation on student exam marks input page and build in recursive looping for student exam marks input.

3. On Co – Curriculum Assessment Module, we’ve enhanced features as following:-
(a)  House Mgmt ~ > Selection List, this is the option to enhance to add [select all] checkbox for every house group on House Mgmt Selection List.

(b)  Form & Report ~ > Assessment Summary Report, We’d added new report format for format of Assessment Summary Report.

(c)  Form & Report ~ > Assessment Summary Report ~ > By Class/Activity, new features to build in co-curriculum assessment summary report print option, i.e. disable/enable header, school name printing.

(d)  Activity ~ > Student Activity ~ > By Class ~ > Maint, it is to default calendar year start and end date on student Co-curriculum activity record edit searching criteria.

(e)  Assessment ~ > Marks Input ~ > Participate / Involvement ~ > By Group ~> Edit, All student co-curriculum involvement records with same competition name will be updated irrespective of activity upon co-curriculum involvement record update submission by group.

    SMS Release Version 4.1 Build 261 – 7th July 2008

    Release Note

    1. On Basic Module, we’ve enhanced features as following:-
    (a) Timetable Management ~ > Import & Export 3rd Party Timetable ~ > ASC 2008 Timetable Migration, this is a newly customized function where we’d integrated SMS with 3rd party Timetable Software ie aSc 2008 to be able to export master data from SMS eg staff name, subject code, class code etc and import to aSc Timetable. User will then export the simulated timetables from aSc and import to SMS. This will eliminate duplicated data entry. To get started, pls click on the link to our online manual for details.

    (b) Info page New page–release highlights embedded in Application info page. Instead of accessing to our http://schoolnet.com.my/releases for details of release notes, user is now able to view directly from SMS system. We’d embedded the latest 5 releases highlights in Application Info page. Pleas take note that this is only possible for those schools with servers on the net.

    (c) Enquiry ~ > School Information ~ > Population By Race/Religion, we’d provided additional option to print school monthly population statistic by race and by religion.

    i. School Population By Race – This is to analyze the school population by race ie malaysians and foreigners in montly basis and can be generated and printed either by class or leve.

    ii. School Population By Religion – This is to analyze the school population by religion with detail breakdown in monthly basis and can be generated and printed either by class or level.

    (d) Enquiry ~ > Attendance Enquiry ~ > Student Attendance Analysis ~ > Yearly Attendance/Absentee Analysis, This is 2 new attendance enquiry option added:

    i. Yearly Student Attendance Analysis – This is to analyze the student attendance count and attendance percentage in monthly basis and can be generated and printed either by class or level.

    ii. Yearly Student Absentee Analysis – This is to analyze the student absent count & its percentage, total student truancy (unexcused absent) & its percentage compared with total schooling days in monthly basis and can be generated and printed either by class or level.

    e) Student Mgmt ~ > Personal Record ~ > Reinstate, we’ve resolved the issues of unable to reinstate graduated student.

    2. On E – Report Card Module, we’ve enhanced features as following:-

    (a) Enquiry ~ > Class Result By Subject, we’d incorporated CSV export feature for Class Result By Subject Enquiry Page.

    (b) Exam Mgmt ~ > Input Marks ~ > By Subject & Class, the system is enhanced to filter student list on exam mark input page by student admission date with exam start date. Filtering process applied to marks input by student too.

    (c) Enquiry ~ > General Result Enquiry, to allow user to preview exam result for classes even though class ranking process is yet to re-run. An indicator icon is displayed beside the student to alert the user on the marks changes.

    (d) Exam Mgmt ~ > Print ~ > Report Card/Result Slip, we’d resolved the error for multiple report cards printing.

    (e) Exam mgmt ~ > Produce Class Ranking, we’d also rectified the query error on class/level rank processing when student result being entered in two classes

    3. On Co – curriculum Assessment Module, we’ve enhanced features as following:-

    (a) General Parameter ~ > General Setting, new feature to auto print performance remarks on student yearly co-curriculum assessment report that includes attendance, position, involvement and achievement provided the performance remarks field is blanked.

    (b) Enquiry ~ > Student Activity ~ > By Class ~ > Format 2 (Student Co-curriculum Activity Listing (Kegiatan Kokurikulum Pelajar), we’d added new report format for Student Co-Curriculum Activity Listing.

    (c) General Parameter ~ > General Setting, new feature to auto create student activity participation record during student achievement record creation.

    (d) Assessment ~ > Marks Input ~ > Participation/Involvement/Achievement ~ > By Group ~ > Create/Maint, we’ve rectified the error [You are not the form teacher of the selected class] for co-curriculum activity participation mark input by activity teacher.

    (e) Activities Records ~ > Activities Attendance, we’d allocated extra spaces for long student name displayed on Co-Curriculum attendance recording page and caused the page distorted.

    4. Student Discipline Module ~> Merit/Demerit ~> Edit, we’d incorporate student disciplinary upload file removal on student disciplinary cases edit page.

    5. E – Attendance Module ~ > Enquiry ~ > Student Attendance ~ > Student In School, the system is enhanced to selection criteria by class for student in school enquiry page.

    6. System Administration Module ~ > User Mgmt ~ > User ~ > Create, we’d provide User ID field to extend from 20 characters to 50 characters.

    Release Note

    1. On Basic Module, we’ve enhanced features as following:-

    (a) Student Mgmt ~ > Student/Staff/Guardian ~ > Personal record ~ > Edit, we’d provided uploaded student photo deletion option at student profile edit page.
    (b) Curriculum Mgmt ~ > Class Details ~ > Create/Edit/Copy Previous Year, the system is enhanced class opening placement input field at class detail creation page. System populated class seat ratio will be displayed at class information enquiry.
    (c) Student Mgmt ~ > Testimonial/Leaving Cert ~ > Preview Template & Printing ~ > Format 4, co-curriculum activity printing filtering on student testimonial – format 4.
    (d) Enquiry ~ > Student Information, we’d resolved [JavaScript Error Console] window popup while clicking on student information enquiry – activity schedule hyper link.
    (e) Timetable Mgmt ~ > Parameter Setup ~ > Group ~ > Staff Group ~ > Setup, the timetable cycle day setup is fixed by gender description displayed in BC.
    (f ) Timetable Mgmt ~ > Class Substitution ~ > Print Substitution Slip, the print dialog window will be pop up on class substitution slip printing.
    (g) Curriculum Module ~ > Class Details ~ > Create, we’ have resolved the error message fail to create class detail record with blank opening placement.
    (h) Curriculum Mgmt ~ > Class Detail ~ > Copy from previous year, the system is enhance to incorporate mandatory input field check for form teacher input field on Class detail setup (Copy From Previous Year).
    (i) Timetable Mgmt ~ > Parameter Setup ~ > Cycle Day ~ > Setup, the system will enhanced to prompt [Record has been saved] upon cycle day setup page submission.

    2. On E – Report Card Module, we’ve enhanced features as following:-

    (a) Exam Mgmt ~ > Input Marks, the system is enhanced to filter student list on exam mark input page by student admission date with exam start date fixed the subject teacher role whereby system checks form teacher role for level listing.

    (b) Exam Mgmt ~ > Class Result Adjustment, we’d resolved the level rank being initialized at class result adjustment page while attendance value reload is enabled.

    3. On Co – Curriculum Assessment Module, we’ve enhanced featured as following:-

    (a) Form & Report ~ > Assessment Summary Report ~ > By Class/Activity, the runtime Assessment Summary Report print option to suppress report form header 1 and header 2 printing and system also incorporate header printing setup on Assessment Summary Report printing by activity.
    (b) General Parameter ~ > Achievement Marks Setup ~ > Achievement Marks Setup -> Edit, the system is enhanced to included new setup page for involvement and achievement position mapping.
    (c) General Parameter ~ > Activity Description ~ > Edit, we’d disable staff activity description code editing

    4. On E – Attendance Module, we’ve enhanced features as following:-

    (a) Enquiry ~ > Student Attendance ~ > Student Attendance Listing, the system is improved to optimize student attendance listing enquiry page loading time.
    (b) Attendance Processing ~> Process Latecomer ~ > Staff, we have rectified the query error on staff latecomer processing, Staff attendance record.
    (c) Enquiry ~ > Staff Late/Staff Absent, on the Print preview user able to click on sit in, but when printing no show sit in option.

    5. On Student Discipline Module, we’ve enhanced features as following:-

    (a) Letter Setting ~ > Surat Pemberitahuan (STD/INFO) ~ > Create, we’ve resolved issues of fullstops character is appended on student disciplinary letter.
    (b) Student Discipline ~> Merit/Demerit ~> Create/Edit/Delete, we’ve rectified issues from missing media news reporting input after creating student discipline record and able to create student disciplinary record with two or more news media input.

    6. On Library Mgmt Module, we’ve enhanced features as following:-

    (a) Enquiry ~ > Reading Analysis ~ > No. of books, we’ve increase library borrowing rate analysis display precision to 2 decimals point to resolved Bar Chart shown incorrect if borrowing rate is 0%.
    (b) Enquiry ~ > Members Borrowing History, the system is enhanced to default start date to current start month date for members borrowing history enquiry.

    7. On System Administration Module ~ > User Mgmt -> Role Assignment, we’d rectified the librarian Role appeared on student role assignment page.

    SMS Release Version 3.3 Build 259 – 12th May 2008

    Release Note

    1. On Basic Module, we’ve enhanced features as following:-

    (a) Curriculum Mgmt ~> Class Details ~> Create, we’ve providing new class stream option [Commerce] for new class categorization.
    (b) Enquiry ~> Data Export ~> Export SMS Profile to Excel Format, the system is enhanced to incorporate guardian profile spreadsheet export feature at menu option Data Export to spreadsheet (Exported format is ASP Portal bulk account upload format compliant).
    (c) School Mgmt ~ > Data Import From EMIS, the system is enhanced to default EMIS Staff Grade and Employment Status lookup code setup at EMIS 4.0 version and import EMIS staff grade and employment status during EMIS data import process.
    (d) Teacher Desktop, we have filter academic level selection option list to own class only for form teacher login. (This shall apply to all the form teacher processes)
    (e) Curriculum Management ~> Opening Placement, we’ve providing new input data [class opening placement] at opening placement process to allow user to input opening placement number by class.
    (f) Enquiry ~> Master Timetable, we’ve enhanced the timetable enquiry page to break the timetable template enquiry & printing in multiple pages should timetable cycle-day setup exceeding five days.
    (g) Student Mgmt ~> Attendance Recording ~> Daily Attendance, the system creating new class attendance lookup code setup, i.e. School Representative, Sick, Suspended and Truancy.
    (h) Enquiry ~> Timetable ~> Class Timetable, the system is break class timetable enquiry in multiple pages should timetable cycle-day exceeded 5 days.
    (i) Enquiry ~> Student Information, we’ve resolved missing labeling display on student profile enquiry – report card tab (e.g. final average, total marks etc).
    (j) Enquiry ~> Attendance Enquiry ~> Monthly Student Detail Attendance Analysis, the transferred student count is able to included in monthly student detail attendance analysis enquiry, Then with another distorted page layout – Monthly student detail attendance analysis enquiry for month with more than 5 calendar weeks, e.g. MAR 08. We’ve resolved issue on double student class attendance statistic count displayed on Class Monthly Attendance Enquiry page.
    (l) Curriculum Mgmt ~> Subjects Offered ~> Create & Update, we’ve resolved issues on error fail when update a new subject.
    (m) School Mgmt ~> News and Announcement ~> Update, we’ve rectified the query error while uploading attachment to school news & announcement record.
    (n) School Mgmt ~> Data Import From SMM, the system is enhanced to skip blank guardian profile importing during SMM data import process.

    2. On E – Report Card Module, we’ve enhanced features as following:-

    (a) Exam Mgmt ~> Class Result Adjustment, we have enhanced the system by adding [Level Rank] adjustment option under class result adjustment process.
    (b) Exam Mgmt ~> Print ~> Report Card, We’ve rectified the error [Anda tiada lesen untuk akses modul ini] while attempting to print student report card with BM login language.
    (c) Exam Mgmt ~> Print ~> Report Card Cover, the system is enhanced on chinese character printed on Student Report Card Cover Sheet to be with inconsistent font family.
    (d) Enquiry ~> Result Analysis – By Line Graph, we’ve fixed the blank line graph displayed on exam result analysis page for academic level with one exam record only.

    3. On Co – Curriculum Assessment Module, We’ve enhanced featured as following:-

    (a) Form & Report ~ > Yearly/Summary Assessment reporting ~ > Print, we’ve optimize student yearly co-curriculum assessment report and assessment summary report printing to be fit into one page for multiple language label printing (Maximum of 2 languages is recommended).
    (b) Activity Record ~> Activity Attendance, we have fixed the query error while updating student co-curriculum activity attendance for teacher role login.
    (c) Assessment -> Marks Input ~> Participation / Involvement ~> By Group ~> Edit, we have resolved the duplicate student participation record displayed on group participation marks edit page.
    (d) Enquiry ~> Student Activity ~> By Class/By Activity, Guardian info will be exported from Student Activity Listing spreadsheet export function should guardian relationship hierarchy is not setup.

    4. On E – Attendance Module, we’ve enhanced features as following:-

    (a) Enquiry ~> Staff Attendance ~> Staff Daily Transaction, we’ve identical staff attendance remarks and initialized during Staff Daily Transaction Listing printing.
    (b) Staff Attendance ~> Transaction Record ~> Staff By Batch ~> Create/Edit/Delete, the system is enhanced by providing new process to create staff attendance record.
    (c) Attendance Parameter ~> Card Info Download To Client, the Staff access card info download file is enhanced to containing student’s photo.
    (d) Enquiry ~> Student Attendance ~> Student Late, we’ve improved slow page loading by Optimize process performance – Student Late / Absent enquiry.

    5. On Library Mgmt Module, we’ve enhanced features as following:-

    (a) Library Management ~> Reservation ~> Create, we have added numeric control for input field validation check on reservation parameter setup page and change circulation due date page.
    (b) Library Mgmt ~> Reports ~> Print report/Report type Semester/Year/Rekod Individu-individu mengikut kumpulan Tahap/Kelas Dengan Bacaan Penggal/Tahun Lepas is rectifie query error on NILAM year end report generation.

    6. Student Discipline ~> Transfer Student To Counselor, we’ve rephrase Transfer Student To Counselor page instruction in BM language.

    7. User Mgmt ~ > Password Mgmt ~ > Reissue Password By Batch ~ > Guardian, we’ve resolved the issues of missing student class code on Guardian Account Password reissue slip printing.

    Release Note

    1. On Basic Module, we’ve enhanced features as following:-

    (a) Timetable Mgmt ~> Staff Timetable Slot ~ > Create, the system is enhanced to default academic year start date on staff timetable slot creation page.
    (b) On newly Ministry login desktop, we have provided new animated flash chart & graphing display on School Statistic by chart.
    (c) Student Mgmt ~ > Student Checklist, provided newly added checklist status [Paid/Received] on student checklist Update page.
    (d) School Management ~ > Student Parameter ~ > Personality Description ~ > Create, we have fixed the Student Personality parameter setup is always defaulted to BM Language.
    (e) Enquiry ~ > School Information ~ > Population By Level/Class, the error ‘Array-sum error’ happened on school population enquiry page for school without student data is rectified.
    (f) Student Mgmt ~ > Change Class ~ > Multiple Student, the issues of deleted class is still listed for selection on multiple students change class process is resolved.
    (g) Student Mgmt ~ > Personal Record ~ > Create, the missing SSDM race option [Others] on student profile creation page is being replaced.
    (h) On Index Page, the appearing on HTML tags being stripped on index announcement scrolling display page is currently removed.
    (i) Student Mgmt ~ > Testimonial/Leaving Cert ~ > Preview Template & Printing ~ > School Leaving Certificate ~ >Format 8, we’ve provided new customized student leaving format with federal logo printed as letter head requested from SM Shan Tao, Sabah.
    (j) Timetable Mgmt ~ > Parameter Setup ~ > Block Template ~ > Edit, we’ve resolved the postgreSQL query error “Cannot insert a duplicate key” while editing timetable block template.

    2. On E – Report Card Module, we’ve enhanced features as following:-

    (a) Exam Mgmt ~ > Input Marks ~ > By Subject & Class, school’s user is able to sort the student listing by gender on exam result input page.
    (b) Exam Parameter ~ > Exam Scheduling ~ > School Exam ~ > Create, the system is enhanced to provide new setup for student disciplinary conduct value printed on report cards by academic year or reporting academic semester.
    (c) Enquiry ~ > General Result Enquiry, we’ve fixed identical overall class average and overall level average displayed on exam result enquiry page for multiple exams result enquiry.
    (d) Exam Mgmt ~ > Produce Class/Level Ranking, the Exam result status updated as ‘Distinction’ if minimum distinction subject count is defined as ‘0’.

    3. On Co – Curriculum Module, we’ve enhanced features as following:-

    (a) Enquiry ~ > Student Activity ~ > By Class/Activity, we’ve incorporate spreadsheet export function for student co-curriculum activity listing by user selectable activity description.
    (b) Enquiry ~ > Regular/Sub Activity Calendar, provided additional enquiry selection criteria by activity type, description, session on co-curriculum regular / sub activity calendar enquiry.
    (c) Marks Input ~ > Bonus Marks ~ > Program Khidmat Negara, we were providing editable student co-curriculum PKN assessment mark for student participated in National Service Program.
    (d) Activity Record ~> Regular Sub Activity, to default current academic year on Regular Sub-Activity Creation Page. This is to standardize session option list to remove night session for school type other than boarding school (To be consistence with student activity creation page)
    (e) General Parameter ~ > Co-curriculum Grading System ~ > Create/Maint/Delete, we’ve rectified the issues of Co-Curriculum grading table setup access denied for PK role.
    (f) Assessment ~ > Assessment Grading, the system is enhanced to included the only highest marks instead of total marks for student holding two positions in co-curriculum activity for the year.

    4. On Library Mgmt Module, we’ve enhanced features as following:-

    (a) Enquiry ~> Borrowing Statistic ~ > Chart Statistic ~ > Monthly Borrowing Statistic/Borrowing Statistic By Book Type, we’ve providing newly animated flash chart & graphing display on Monthly Borrowing Statistic Enquiry and Borrowing Statistic By Book Type Enquiry.
    (b) Library Mgmt ~ > General Setting, we’ve enhanced the system to provide the additional library book borrowing due date setup option of [Not Applicable]. With this option being selected, system shall include all the days to populate borrowing due date, i.e. include Friday/ Saturday, Sunday.
    (c) Bibliographic ~> Bibliographic Detail Export Book, the issues of detail export process is not filtered by entered bar code export range is fixed
    (d) Reports ~ > Generate Month End Report, we’ve resolved the NILAM reporting error for grading table setup with 0 start range.
    (e) Reports ~ > Print Report, the issues of incorrect grading table scale used for library NILAM report – Laporan Bulanan Kumpulan Tahap/Kelas is rectified.
    (f) Bibliographic ~ > Create/Edit, Firefox browser incompatibility fixing on library bibliographic item creation (fail to validate bar code input field during update submission).
    (g) Report ~ > Print Report ~ > Choose Year ~ > LAPORAN STATUS PELAKSANAAN PROGRAM NILAM TAHAP JAUHARI NILAM report, sub-title printing in BM for Laporan Status Pelaksanaan Program Nilam Tahap Jauhari.

    5. On e – Attendance Module, we’ve enhanced features as following:-

    (a) Student Attendance ~ > Attendance Processing ~ > Process Late Comer, the system is enhanced to include school assembly period as compulsory attendance during student late comer processing. In other words, student clocks in after/within the assembly period will be categorized as late status.
    (b) Enquiry ~ > Staff Attendance ~ > Staff Absent, we’ve provide features for staff sit in link on absentee enquiry page.
    (c) Enquiry ~ > Student Attendance ~ > Student Late, to provide new option for student late comer listing by entire level or classes.

    6. Enquiry~>Analysis of Discipline Cases (Bar chart) ~>By Year/Level, the system is enhanced with newly animated flash chart & graphing display on student discipline cases analysis by chart.

    1. On Basic Module, we’ve enhanced features as following:-

    (a) School Mgmt ~ > Student Parameter ~ > Personality Description ~ > Create, the system is allowed Student personality setup page content display based on login language.

    (b) Student Management ~ > Testimonial/Leaving Cert ~ > Preview Template & Printing ~ > Student Leaving Cert (Format 4), we’ve adjust school address printed perfectly with removed extra comma (,) character.

    (c) Class creation option under Curriculum Mgmt~> Class Detail ~> Create/Maintain, the system is enhanced to remove “Deleted” or “Transferred” Teacher from the Class/Form Teacher list.

    2. On E – Report Card Module, we’ve enhanced features as following:-

    (a) Enquiry ~ > Result Analysis – Statistic ~ > By Year / Subject, we’ve incorporate public exam result analysis by year / subject.

    (b) Enquiry ~ > Student Rank By Level, the system is enhanced to provided additional display column – [Simulated Student Rank by Generic Average] on Student Rank Enquiry By Level page.

    (c) Exam Parameter ~ >Marks Distribution By Student, we’ve provided the new enhancements with build in incomplete marks input color indicator on Exam Marks Distribution setup page.

    (d) Exam Mgmt ~> Input Marks ~> By Subject & Class/By Subject Slot/Set, the system is customized on report card mark input page with sorting list by sex and name ascending order. Click on [Gender] to sort the listing by gender.

    3. On Library Mgmt Module, we’ve enhanced features as following:-

    (a) Reports ~ >NILAM Program Data Adjustment, we’ve provided new option to allow NILAM program data manipulation. This option shall provide feature for school to adjust
    student book reading count from data collected from external recognized library organization.

    (b) Bibliography Listing ~ > Export to spreadsheet, Data spreadsheet export in Unicode UTF8 character encoding to displayed Chinese characters.

    (c) Circulation ~ > Return, we’ve re-Open the process [Book Due Date Slip] printing during book loan process.

    4. On Student Fees Module, we’ve enhanced features as following:-

    (a) Invoice Mgmt ~ > Invoice Printing, the system is enhanced to grant menu bar access permission to student fees admin assistant on invoice printing function.

    (b) Parameter ~ > Fee Setup and Amount, the system is pre-create school common fees type during module deployment.

    5. On Student Enrollment Module, we’ve enhanced features as following:-

    (a) Appln Update ~ > Latihan Jangka Pendek ~ > Submit, the issues is resolved when no record listed for enrollment submission.

    (b) Enquiry ~ > By Course Name, we’ve resolved issues of Enrollment enquiry by course name page display error.

    6. On Co – Curriculum Assessment Module, we’ve enhanced features as following:-

    (a) Enquiry ~ > Student Activity ~ > By Class, we’ve remove current year student checking to allowed previous year students to be listed on student activity enquiry by class.

    (b) Form & Report ~ > Assessment Summary Report/Yearly Assessment Report ~ >By Class, the system is enhanced to display academic year and level description depend on selected year. Current academic year printed on student co-curriculum assessment report will not printing on previous year report.
