How to display Body Mass Index (BMI) on Report Card?

BMI is an acronym for Body Mass Index in which it is a standard measurement for determining the ideal body weight. Generally, a person who belongs to the category of overweight or obese have a higher risk for heart attack, high blood pressure and diabetes. By listing students’ BMI on their report cards, parents have the means to know whether their child’s weight is ideal, overweight or obese.

Here are the step on how to include Body Mass Index (BMI) on report Card.

Steps:
1. On E-Report Card Module go to Parameter Setup ~ > Exam Schedule/Result Display Setting ~ > School Exam ~ > Create & Update.
Tick the check box for Weight (kg), Height (cm) and Body Mass Index (BMI) which is only available for student report card template format 1.

2. Setup Body Mass Index on Grading System Setup->Body Mass Index Setup->Create
This function is to define student’s BMI ratio & description for human’s body fat based on gender, age, individual’s weight and height.

3. On Exam Mgmt ~ > Performance Remark ~ > By Class Teacher. The class teacher require to insert their student’s Height in CM and Weight in Kg by their own respective class’s student.

4. Print student’s Report Card with BMI  on Exam Mgmt->Report Card->Print

An example of calculating BMI using the body mass index formula:
Height = 165 cm (1.65 m), Weight = 50kg
BMI Calculation: 50 ÷ (1.65)2 = 18.37 (show 2 decimal )
