How do I setup exam parameter before start using E- Report card Module?
Exam parameters are required to set up by academic year. Before setting up the exam parameters that suit your school’s requirement, user must ensure that the followings parameters (under SMS Basic) are ready for the selected academic year:
1. Level, Classes and Subject Offer
2. Class Timetable
3. Subject Enrolment
Followings are the illustrated steps on how to setup exam parameter in order to start using E – Report Card Module
Step 1: General Setting
To do it, please click on link Paramter Setup ~ > General Setting, This E-Report Card Setting is used to indicate what and how the details/descriptions in the report card is to be displayed/printed. User is required to setup the general setting for the exam module as this is the part where user can define the document header and details to be printed on the report card header, result slip and transcript.
Step 2: Exam Code & Descriptions
To do it, please click on link Parameter Setup ~ > Exam Code & Description, This is used to define the exam code and description. No change from previous setup, except user may define the exam description in multi-language. Indicate accordingly whether the exam is a school exam or public exam. In this manner, only those exams that are defined as public exam shall be listed in public exam result input and enquiries.
Step 3: Exam Schedule & Result Display Setting
The exam schedule for each level shall be setup. The report card printing orientation and details that are to be displayed/printed shall also be set here. To do it, please click on link Parameter Setup ~ > Exam Schedule & Result Display Setting ~ > School Exam/Public Exam ~ > Create, User needs to set the date for each examination for each level. This setup shall enable the system to list the exams taken by each student in date order.
Step 4: Subject Exam Setting
Subject exam setup needs to be done for each subject in each exam. The system allows subject exam setting to be done for both normal and final exam. To do it, please click on link on parameter setup ~ > Subject Exam Setting ~ > Normal/Final Exam. For the subject final exam, all setting are similar to “Subject Exam Setting – Normal Exam”, except that these setting are to be used specifically for the “Final Exam”.
Step 5: Paper Exam Setting
This is applicable for any subject where the marks are to be input by paper. To do it, please click on link parameter setup ~ > Paper Exam Setting ~ > Normal/Final Exam. For the paper final exam, all setting are similar to “Paper Exam Setting – Normal Exam”, except that these setting are to be used specifically for the “Final Exam”.
Step 6: Exam Subject Group
This is used to group subjects that determine the overall student pass or fail status. For example, a student must pass either History OR Geography in order to pass. So Geography and History is a “Subject Group”. To do it, please click on the link parameter setup ~ > Exam Subject Group ~ > Create.
Step 7: Main Subject Teacher Setup
System allows user to assign & authorized particular teacher to enter exam subject marks for each student. To do it, please go to go to Parameter Setup ~> Main Subject Teacher Setup.
Step 8: Student Exam Subject Marks Distribution
System allows user to define the value of marks to be distributed to each exam for each student. With this function, if a student is absent in one of the exams, the marks can be distributed to any exam he or she had attends. To do it, please click on link Parameter Setup ~ > Mark Distribution Setup ~ > Subject/Student
Step 9: Performance Remark
User needs to create the standard description for the performance remark for different group of users. This is to provide an easy way for teachers to select the relevant remark for their students based on their academic performance. To do it, please click on link Parameter Setup ~ > Performance Remark.
