Adding Twitter Widget
What is Twitter?
Twitter (www.twitter.com) is a free social networking and micro-blogging service that allows users to send “updates” (text-based posts, up to 140 characters long) via SMS, instant messaging, email, the Twitter website, or an application such as Twitterrific.
Updates are displayed on the user’s profile page and also instantly delivered to other users who have signed up to receive them. The sender can restrict delivery to those in his or her circle of friends (delivery to everyone is the default). Users can receive updates via the Twitter website, instant messaging, SMS, RSS, email or through an application.
You can add your Twitter update onto your blog via the Twitter Widgets.
How Do you Add the Twitter widget to your blog?
1. Join Twitter at http://www.twitter.com/
2. Click Presentation, Widgets and drag the Twitter widget from the Available Widget area into the sidebar.
3. Click the little box on the right side of the Twitter widget, you will see the following configuration box
4. You can change the “Widget title” to whatever you want to call, enter you Twitter account that you had registered e.g. http://twitter.com/smjk, remember just enter the “smjk” part, and NOT the whole URL; you can enter other Twitter users’ account if you want to, if you do not have one;
5. Enter the “Number of updates” that you want to appear on your blogs; remember, the more updates to be displayed will slow down your blog;
6. Remember to Click “Save Changes” before you exit the Sidebar Widgets; If everything is correct you will start seeing your recent Twitter updates showing up in your sidebar.
