What is iSchool ASP Portal?

While the iSchool Management Systems would contain the bulk of administrative database of a school, access to the respective information is targeted for school administrators, teachers and principals. Most of the iSchool SMS servers are located at the individual schools, where the access is mostly Intranet base, and access by users within the school campus.

The iSchool Management Systems is a web-based application, and is accessible if the server is configured with proper link to high-speed Internet link, with proper firewall configurations and security protection.

However, the infrastructure for the Internet within most schools are usually an ADSL broadband line, where the downstream speed is usually 1 Mega Bit, and is good enough only for limited access to the Internet by users in the school. However, for the iSchool Management Systems to be access from outside of the school, the uplink bandwidth is usually 384 kB, which would not be sufficient for access from users outside of the school.

The iSchool ASP Portal is specially designed for schools that want to provide school information access for parents and students from home. We will provide uploading utilities for you to synchronise the student information from the iSchool Management System to the iSchool ASP Portal, so that they can be access from our data centre by parents and students from home.

Parent Access – Features

Parent and guardian can also log-in to the iSchool ASP Portal, if he / she is being issued an ID and password by the school. After logging in, the parent will have access to students’ profile only for children and students under his custodian. Apart from the student profile, he’ll have full news and announcement information in the school. He will also be able to send and receive messages to and from the teachers if he chooses to.

Parents can access their child’s academic profile, track class performance, attendance, teacher’s comments, disciplinary action etc. from the parent’s desktop.

• Parent needs only to have one ID and password, once access to the portal information for all of their children, even they at different schools shall be accessible on his/her desktop.
